Mauri Ensure Product Quality
Mauri Products are one of the leading suppliers of yeast products to the baking and brewing industries in the UK. As you would expect for a food product, yeast is produced using stringent quality control procedures and standards. Testing is carried out during all parts of the process from production through to final quality control, and these results are passed to customers in the form of detailed certificates of analysis.
Mauri used to record these results in various databases and spreadsheets that had been developed internally over a number of years. Rob Jenkins, Quality Manager for Mauri said “Our old systems recorded the data we needed but it was difficult to get an overall picture and to produce the reports we wanted. It was also difficult to maintain the many different spreadsheets and databases that we had, some of which were in Lotus 123 and Approach and some which were in Excel and Access.”
Intradev designed a single brand new application that would be accessed by all the relevant departments in Mauri. This application is called the Mauri Yeast Result Reporting System or MYRRS for short. It was developed using Microsoft Access and runs over a SQL Server database platform. The system captures test results from the various stages of the production and quality control processes and has integrated reports giving summary and detailed information in both printable and Excel formats.
Rob added “MYRRS has helped us to easily get the information that we need to manage the yeast production process. Certificates of Analysis are now much more easily produced, saving us time and improving accuracy. Our staff like the new system which is easy to use and maintain.”
